At its heart
Celebration of the Word provides a prayerful opportunity for children to gather together, encounter God through Scripture and respond in faith. Rooted in the Sunday Gospel, Listen Lead Pray supports children to participate with increasing understanding, confidence and reverence.
What’s included
Children are brought together in a prayerful setting to listen to God’s Word and spend time in stillness and reflection. Familiar patterns, symbols, music and silence help create a space in which children can become attentive to God’s presence.
Children are encouraged to respond to what they have heard through prayer and consider how the Gospel can shape their lives. As their formation develops, they take increasing responsibility for preparing and leading aspects of Celebration of the Word, connecting prayer with how they live and act each day.
